I little bit of sparkle

So I've actually chopped all my hair off, but I've got a few another post to go before you can see it.  I've really been getting into my television series and the moment and have caught up with The Walking Dead (love love love) and Game of Thrones (brilliant!) and currently catching up on Boardwalk Empire - I loooooove the characters style, it's set in 1920's:

Don't you just adore the 1920's style?

With all the snow around, I've been debating if I should buy a pair of Hunter Wellies - I mean I've seen better designs around for about £15, but I've gone through 3 of them by finding they hand holes as I stepped through puddles and snow!  But on the other hand Hunters are at least a whopping £65! Does anyone have any good alternatives?

It wasn't just my blog that I have neglected over the Christmas period, I didn't paint my nails once!  So I decided to jazz them up a little with a little sparkle.

What do you think?  I do like the accent nail, I don't think I'll get bored of it,  it makes a simple manicure pop.  

I always bypass this dress in my wardrobe, it just looks so plain on the hangers, yet when I have it on, I fall back in love with it - anyone else get that with any of their clothes?

It's a Wrap

A slightly different outfit post today, more or an outerwear post.  I don't think I'll be doing too many of these, but I love coats and jackets and have quite a few in my collection and always find myself eying everyone's coats on my way to work in the morning.  Anyone else do that?

I loved last weeks weather here in London, it was soooo cold with thick frost on the cars in the morning but blistering sunshine throughout the day - perfect weather for warm mulled cider.  I can't believe it's less than a week until Christmas - I have sooooooooo much to do, it's quite scary!  What about you guys - have you got everything done?

Why hello again, sorry for the long break yet again, seems life just keeps getting in the way.  Let's see, what have I been up to?  I've popped over to NYC for the first time ever and OMG it was amazing! If you follow me on intstagram you'll have seem my many many pictures.  Though people compare it to London, it's got a completely different vibe, it's a little more chilled and a slower pace - so If anyone wants to give me a job in NYC I won't say no! har har  In fact I bought these Cons for my trip as I don't own a single pair of walking shoes and these bad boys fit the bill perfectly - stylish and comfy!

I have also just been to a gorgeous wedding in the countryside with some of my closest girl friends.  We had such a good time in a bubble of pink-sweet-diamante-goodness with lots of laughs and dancing.  My other bestie Abi has just got engaged which is so amazing and means there are now 4 weddings next year, 3 of which I will bridesmaid for - all very exciting times.  

The sad news of recent weeks is my iPhone was stolen again... that makes a whopping 4 iPhone 4s and 1 iPhone 3Gs lost/stolen in the last year!!!!  I amaze myself, I've never had so much bad luck with phones until the iPhone came about! eeegad!

I forgot to post any pic's of these lovely nails last week and couldn't let another day go by without showing them off.  I have to say I am rather chuffed with how they turned out as I'm usually pretty impatiant when it comes to nail stickers and I can never wait til they're completely dry so end up pulling all the nail polish off.  However this time I managed to hold off and they came out pretty swanky if I do say so myself, what do you think?

This weekend I spent my time browsing markets, Saturday I spent wandering the packed streets of Portobello Market taking lots of pictures with my vintage lomo-lca which I hope to develop soon and show you lovely folk.  Then on Sunday my Ma and I took a little trip down to Spitafields and Bricklane Markets and I nabbed my self 2 pairs of vintage high-waiste shorts for the bargain price of £26 which again I will be showing off soon.  I've been after a pair for AGES, since last year in fact, but it's quite hard to find the right cut and fit AND ensuring my butt cheeks aren't hanging out the back.  What did you guys get up to this weekend?

Summer sure is struggling to take off here in the UK at the moment, it's been so up and down with days of sunshine and 25°C to constant downpours and gusty winds - not so fun.  So when the sun does shine I try and make the most of it and finally had a chance to wear this lovely vintage sheer pink midi skirt.  I've also been really getting into slips recently - there just so darned practical!  I know I sound about 50 right now, but seriously if you try them out, you'll never go back, especially is you find really pretty ones.

One little Dicky Bird

I have had such a busy week this week, it was the 3rd week into my level 2 Jive class with Hula Boogie, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it.  I went wedding dress shopping with my bestie Jackie in the most fantastical vintage bridal shop Fur Coat, No Knickers filled with the most beautiful dresses and a super friendly service.  On Friday my ladies and I went to a great little Cabaret night La Reve in Cafe de Paris, it was a great night with lots of giggles and wine.  Today I was out munching on Dim Sum with a friend, if anyone is in the Bayswater area in London I highly recommend you pay a visit to Royal China, though you may have to queue, it's well worth it as it was scrummy!

These nails remind me of ice cream - though I'm not too sure why.  I thought I'd brighten up my nails seeing as the weather is refusing to do so.  I really do not like the wind/rain combo, especially when I have such a flimsy umbrella and the streets of London seem to be heaving with umbrella maniacs!

As promised yonks ago, here is one of the scarfs I picked up in the Shoreditch Vintage Fair (which is making a return this weekend! YAY), I love the colour and pattern on this scarf as it's just so pretty and cute but not too girly.  I'm also sad to say that my favourite boots have a hole in the leather :(  I discovered this when it was raining buckets this week and only one foot was soaked through.  I'm so sad, as these are really my go to favourite boots and make regular appearences on the blog.  I've had them for over a year, but I don't think the should wear out quite so quickly - do you guys think I should take them back or bin them?

Silver Surfer

I have been hunting for AGES for a decent silver or gold nail polish that is... well ... silver or gold.  I find most of these polishes have more of a brown or grey tint and not really 'silver'.  But hooray for Barry M - their Foil Affects range is simply amazaballs, the polish is nice and shiny and doesn't streak at all - PERFECT!  Have you guys checked these out yet?

I know this is a rather summery outfit yet the weather is anything but hot over here in London, which I'm totally sick off, ever since I got back from Malaysia it feels like I don't have any Winter clothes in my wardrobe - which is not the case, I think it's more to do with I want to be back in 32°C heat!  But fear not, I didn't go wandering around in just this outfit, I still had my big lambskin coat on.  I've also found I've been wearing my hair up loads recently because of the wind and rain, it's hard enough walking around with an umbrella let alone being blinded by my own hair!  This is currently my favourite way to wear my hair at the moment, scrunched up into a random mess- easy peasy!

Copycat Nails...

I saw this awesome nail tutorial over on Wayward Daughter and thought I'd give it a go.  I love experimenting with my nails and this manicure is so simple I thought I'd give it a go - I think they turned out pretty well.

Nail Polish - all Bary M

Well this week has been busy but relaxing if that makes sense at all?  I stumbled upon a great little cider pub during the week called the Green Man, they sell every kind of cider you can imagine, my favourite being the elderflower and lime one - yummy.  On Friday I went to see Breaking Dawn the latest in the Twilight saga - it was very cheesy but great! It was also good catching up with some girlfriends I haven't seen in a long time.  

Yesterday I went to Westfield Stratford with some friends, as one would expect it was absolutely PACKED with people, but with the hustle bustle and Christmas lights twinkling away it's really got me in the festive mood.  Surprisingly I didn't actually buy anything - shock, horror! I'm really trying to curb my spending at the moment, and I have to say, so far so good.  We finished the day sipping hot chocolates and listening to the Christmas tunes playing.  

Today I spent the morning at Battersea Car Boot Sale just browsing around watching the vulture dealers crowding new sellers as they arrive so they could grab the best bits and take them back to their stall and sell them at a higher price - the cheek!
