Back in my Day

Cardigan - Vintage | Top & Skirt - H&M | Tights & Socks - Primark | Belt - Stolen from another dress | Boots - Zara

I know I said I didn't like this skirt a couple of posts ago, however I think it works much better with boots as opposed to shoes - what do you think? Or maybe it's the darker tights, who knows, but it's back in my good books.

Yesterday was the first day of Chinese New Year (Kung Hei Fat Choi!!!), though it was a really wet and cold day, there was still lots to do.

My Ma and me started the day by popping by The Vintage Flea Market, I think we arrived too late as the stalls were pretty bare.  The thing about 'Vintage' fairs, they're all so expensive and packed nowadays as they're so popular, gone are the days when they were simply known as jumble sales and you could find that hidden gem.  Even charity shops (well at least in London) have cottoned on and there are no more 50p bargains! sheesh - does anyone know any places to find good bargains in London?

In the afternoon we headed to our favourite Dim Sum restaurant - Royal China, where we met up with by Bro and Pa and stuffed ourselves silly with dumplings.  Everything was scrummy but if you do go, you must try the BBQ pork puffs - sticky, sweet with crumbly pastry - to die for!  Did anyone else do anything for Chinese New Year?

Pulling the wool over your eyes

Jumper, Tights, Necklace - Primark | Skirt - Topshop | Socks - H&M | Boots - Zara

I hope everyone had a jolly, merry Christmas and they got to spend it with their loved ones.  I had a really fun day with some of our family over and singing karaoke until the early hours.

I'm sorry for not posting sooner, I thought with my time off I'd be able to show a little love to my blog, but it turns out, I just got caught up in Christmas.  Before the big day, my lovely Hungarian friend decided to put on a little Hungarian Christmas Dinner and oh my gosh it was delicious!  Here's the menu:
Starter:
Hungarian meaty pancakes - Hortobagyi husos palacsinta :)

Main:
Slow cooked marinated pork belly served with apple sauce

Sides:
Pickled red cabbage with apple
Roasted Apache potatoes
Orange glazed carrots
Roasted parsnips
Warm garden pea and green bean salad with sesame seeds

Pudding:
Orange and walnut parfait served with orange and vodka jelly
Believe me, it tasted as good as it sounds!  What have you guys been up to during this Christmas period?
This is another item I haven't worn in years - this skirt I purchased from Topshop about 5 years ago and it keeps escaping the clear out as I love the colours and the the silky material, and as it turns out it goes pretty well with baggy jumpers.  I'm glad I didn't ship it off to the charity shop.
What's everyone's plans for the NY?  I've got 2 house parties to attend, but I may just stick to one as getting from one place to another before midnight generally means I end up celebrating on the tube or a bus.

☾ Dark Days ☾

Top - H&M | Skirt - Monki | Tights, Socks, Necklace & Ring - Primark | Boots - Office

Winter is really starting to creep in, it's getting really cold outside and it always seems to be dark - it's dark when I leave the house and it's dark when I come home.  But all is not lost, I think the Autumn/Winter wardrobe is one of my favourites, what with all the layers, tights and rich colours.  It also gives me a perfect excuse to pull out my warm sheepskin coat.  What's your favourite season?

Has anyone seen Skyfall yet?  The perks of working in the my industry is that I managed to bag myself a ticket to the cast and crew screening before the UK premier, the downside being that the screenings are usually really early on the weekends.  Now I'm not the biggest Bond fan, but this was a great movie, just the right balance of action and comedy and really bringing it back to old school Bond - not to mention the eye candy which is Q.  What's you thoughts?

I also missed all the fireworks this weekend, did you guys get to see any?

✪ Hocus Pocus ✪

I know Halloween isn't until Wednesday, and it's not actually that huge over here in the UK, but I just love an excuse for fancy dress and pumpkin carving.  My bro and I have become a carving tag team, I do the stencilling and my bro does the elbow work and carves the design.

What do you think of our pumpkins this year?  Have you guys been pumpkin carving yet?

This weekend I went to a Halloween party in Hoxton Docks put on by the Kigu crew called Horrors of the Deep.  If you haven't heard of Kigu before, they are company who make amazing and cute animal onsies, the word ‘Kigu’ is short for ‘kigurumi’, which literally translates as ‘costumed animal character’ in Japanese.

As you can probably tell by the name of the party 'Horrors of the Deep' the theme was sea related, however I had been wanting to try my hand at a Day of the Dead/Sugar Skull face painting, so though keeping Halloween-y I didn't stick to the sea theme at all.

And here is the result, I'm pretty proud of myself and love all the pretty colours - what do you guy think?

The party itself I'm afraid to say wasn't the greatest, I mean they did have everything promised, but the drink and music selection wasn't the best and the venue was pretty much empty until well past midnight.  Luckily I was with a good bunch of people and made our own fun.  Has anyone else got a Halloween party planned?

Why hello again, sorry for the long break yet again, seems life just keeps getting in the way.  Let's see, what have I been up to?  I've popped over to NYC for the first time ever and OMG it was amazing! If you follow me on intstagram you'll have seem my many many pictures.  Though people compare it to London, it's got a completely different vibe, it's a little more chilled and a slower pace - so If anyone wants to give me a job in NYC I won't say no! har har  In fact I bought these Cons for my trip as I don't own a single pair of walking shoes and these bad boys fit the bill perfectly - stylish and comfy!

I have also just been to a gorgeous wedding in the countryside with some of my closest girl friends.  We had such a good time in a bubble of pink-sweet-diamante-goodness with lots of laughs and dancing.  My other bestie Abi has just got engaged which is so amazing and means there are now 4 weddings next year, 3 of which I will bridesmaid for - all very exciting times.

The sad news of recent weeks is my iPhone was stolen again... that makes a whopping 4 iPhone 4s and 1 iPhone 3Gs lost/stolen in the last year!!!!  I amaze myself, I've never had so much bad luck with phones until the iPhone came about! eeegad!

The Long Weekend

Cardigan & Tights - Primark | Skirt - H&M | Shoes - New Look

This weekend was a Bank Holiday weekend here in Britain, and in London was the Notting Hill Carnival.  I have to admit, living down the road from the Carnival I didn't venture down this year, but if you have never been I highly recommend you take a trip as it's such a colourful, vibrant and fun experience - especially if the sun is shining.

I have spent the weekend watching Lion King at the theater with my sister - again an experience you really shouldn't miss, it was just so magical and mesmerising, and running around the Science Museum and the Google Web Lab and chilling out and hanging with friends - a perfect weekend.  You can check out my instagram pics on the right to see what I've been up to.  What have you been up to?

I'm quite sad how blown out my top is in these pictures are it has very cute button detail down the front.  The weather is back to it's usual randomness and it goes from being super muggy to thunder and lightening in an afternoon - so long Summer that never really arrived.

♫ Oh my Darling, Oh My Darling ♫

Dress - Dorothy Perkins | Sandals - Forever 21 | Hair Doughnut - Primark

Guess who's back?  Meeeee! Sorry I have been absent for such a long time, life really has been in full swing, with the Olympics, Blur gig, booking trips to NY, work and general life.  So this weekend I decided to dedicate to the blog, also plus the fact I'm super broke, but I'm afraid to say disaster struck!  Though I have not been on the blog for a very long time, I have been taking outfit photo's.  I was planning to set up a few scheduled posts this weekend, so I plugged in my SD card and was transfering both outfit posts and general snaps of the Summer over to my mac, when BAM! everything froze and disappeared!  Nooooooo, I have tried all sorts of recovery software but it seems all my Summer and outfit pics are lost and gone forever :(  I am so sad.

Anyhow, I'm afraid you'll have to put up with this outfit from a couple of months ago, I hope you guys don't mind.  What has everyone else been up to?

♡ Rainbows and Butterflies ♡

Cardigan & Necklace - Primark | Vest Top, Skirt & large Ring - H&M | Shoes - New Look
Nails - Barry M - Mint Green | Barry M - Grey | Nail Stickers - Ebay seller

I forgot to post any pic's of these lovely nails last week and couldn't let another day go by without showing them off.  I have to say I am rather chuffed with how they turned out as I'm usually pretty impatiant when it comes to nail stickers and I can never wait til they're completely dry so end up pulling all the nail polish off.  However this time I managed to hold off and they came out pretty swanky if I do say so myself, what do you think?

This weekend I spent my time browsing markets, Saturday I spent wandering the packed streets of Portobello Market taking lots of pictures with my vintage lomo-lca which I hope to develop soon and show you lovely folk.  Then on Sunday my Ma and I took a little trip down to Spitafields and Bricklane Markets and I nabbed my self 2 pairs of vintage high-waiste shorts for the bargain price of £26 which again I will be showing off soon.  I've been after a pair for AGES, since last year in fact, but it's quite hard to find the right cut and fit AND ensuring my butt cheeks aren't hanging out the back.  What did you guys get up to this weekend?

◆ She's my Japanese Girl ◆

 Top - H&M | Skirt, Jacket & Necklace - Primark | Wedges - New Look

My mission for the Summer, despite the rain, was to find wedges that weren't too high so I could wear them on a daily basis.  It was just my luck that Geisha wedges are all the rage at the moment and they were surprisingly easy to come by - which never usually happens to me.

I picked up these rather cute bad boys up from New Look, though the height is perfect, and I could prance around the shop in them fine, when it came to actually wearing them to work they cut my feet to shreds!  Which was annoying as when I tested them out they didn't feel like the would hurt anywhere - if you know what I mean?  Anyhow, I really do hate breaking shoes in, I wish they were just comfy automatically - what about you guys?  Does anyone have any tips to breaking in shoes quickly and pain free?  Here's hoping next time I wear them they're super comfy!

What has been on your shopping list for the Summer?

Peek-a-Boo

Cardigan - Primark | Dress - H&M via Ebay | Tights - House of Holland | Shoes - Red or Dead

I hope everyone has had a great weekend, I've spent it at leaving do's, riverside strolls and dinning on a deliecious Sunday Roast at The Crabtree - what have you lot been up to?

I finally gave in and bought the suspender tights by House of Holland from Topshop.  Being 27 I was a little worried I was a bit too old for these tights, but I really believe it's how you wear things and not what you wear.  With these beauties being quite so expensive (well for me) I expected them to be highly durable, however they laddered by the end of the evening!  I wasn't doing anything extravegant, just bowling and a bus ride home, but when I went to take them off they had a big fat ladder right on the thigh - NOT GOOD for £13 tights!  But I do love them, so I may have to force myself and go out and buy another pair.  Have you guys tried these tights? What's your experience?

◆ Cops & Robbers ◆

Dress - H&M | Collar - Romwe | Tights - Primark | Boots - Red or Dead

I haven't worn this collar for ages, though I'm not sure why as I am totally in love with it, it's just so pretty and has such a beautiful scallop finish.  I wore this little outfit on a day trip to Brighton with my friend Abi , I did take lots of photo's on my iPhone 4s, however it went missing late last night while I was out :( so sad that I can't share any photos with you.

The annoying thing about my missing phone is that I managed to track it down today to some house on the other side of London (thank-you iCloud) however the police won't help me recover it as they don't have the authority to enter the premisses and ask for my phone back! (if you follow me on twitter you'll see I've been rambling about this too) So all I can do is remotely wipe the phone, and hope my insurance coughs up.  Anyway, that has spoiled my plans for the weekend as I can't contact anyone unless they respond on FB.

Enough rambling from me - have you had anything annoying happen to you recently?  I hope you guys are having a good weekend.

Busy Bee

Dress - JOY | Tights - H&M | Boots - Office

Firstly apologies for the long absence, I have been super busy at work, working 6 days a week, and it looks like its set to continue.  As I work on a computer all day, I'm afraid the last thing I want to do when I get home is hop back on the computer and blog - sorry folks!

However I do have a holiday booked - WHOOP, I'm off to Malaysia for a week for a family wedding meal - I couldn't get the time off to actually go to the wedding in Thailand which is major sucky balls, but I am going to the meal in Malaysia.  It's only a short holiday but it will be good to see family I haven't seen in years, but I need to start packing because I leave on 4th Feb.  Anyone booked their holidays yet?

Anyhow, I just had to show off this super cute dress from JOY, I just love the colours, the mix of textures and patterns, the adorable bow and sleeves - basically everything! check them out and you'll fall immediately in love with all their clothes.  I picked two dresses up on the sale, I'll show you the other one in one of my future posts.

What has everyone else been up to?  Have you been super busy or chilled out?
