Four Scarf's and a Rhino Ring later...

Although the weather was awful today - wet, wind and cold - I decided to make the most of it seeing as I didn't do anything much yesterday.  My Mumma and I decided to take a wee trip down to Brick Lane Market.

The weather was so grim I decided to wrap up and welly up today:

Cardigan & Wellies - Ebay, Top & Leggings - H&M, Necklace - Vintage

I really do love Markets, the atmosphere, the amazing little finds and paths that lead you to a different world.  Today we discovered the Tea Rooms - A fantastic little indoor Market just off Brick Lane, they had everything from furniture, jewellery, coffee shop and a cute little tea set seller.

I also found this great little stall that was selling scarf's for £1 each...naturally I just couldn't resist and I picked up these bad boys to add to my collect:

Fabulous huh?  To be fair I could have stood there all day rummaging through the table stacked high of colourful scarf's but I thought four was enough....for the time being :)

We also stopped by Rokit - a chain of Vintage stores dotted around London - I believe there is one in Camden?! anyway I spied the fabulous Rhino Ring for £15 and again could not help myself...

It's fabulous...I'm really into my animal jewelery at the moment just in case anyone hasn't noticed :)  Unfortunately because of the wet weather there wasn't really many stalls dotted along the sides of the roads like there normally is so I'll have to take a trip when the weather is better.

I also popped into Lush in the station and picked up another tub of Dark Angels facial scrub - simply amazing is all I can say - it leaves my skin super soft and squeaky clean!

Please do let me know what your favourite Markets around London are so I can go and check them out, and also your favourite Lush products - there is also so much to choose from I can never decide! :)

Va va voooooom....

At around 6pm yesterday evening I finally got some life back into me and decided to go out with my Ma and Bro for a meal and hit Shoreditch for a friends Bday.

I decided seeing as had been a lazy bum all day I would make a real effort with my outfit - which gave me a great excuse to wear this FABULOUS dress from Topshop - it was a part of their designer collaboration with TV.

 Cardigan - H&M, Dress - Topshop/TV, Tights, Necklace & Ring - Primark, Wedge Boots - Vera Moda

I actually found this little number on my friends Jac's blog. It was too big for her so I just snapped it up :) Lucky me!

The cut of this dress is perfect and the material if so thick and fabulous and the detail is too die for!

What do you think? I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with this dress so be prepared to see me sporting it at every opportunity :)
For the meal we ended up going to Cote - a lovely chain of French restaurants that I have always passed but never been in. We ended up in the one in Turnham Green - as soon as we walked in you could smell all the delicious food and the atmosphere was alive with conversations and laughter.

Their menu can be found here, but this is our selection:
Mumma - Bread selection followed by Steak Frites
Bro - Rillettes (Duck and Pork Pate), Sirloin Steak with Garlic butter, Chocolate Fondant
Me - Steak Tartare, Duck Confit

Everything was mouth wateringly delicious - I highly recommend you take a visit!

As for my trip to Shoreditch - it was short but sweet, I popped over for a quick drink in Zigfrid's in Hoxton square, caught up with the birthday girl and her friends and caught my last tube home and was in bed my 1am.

Not bad for a Saturday that originally started out quite ropey.

What did everyone get up to on their Saturday?

Spinning heads...

So I went to a leaving do after work yesterday and lets just say I feel rather delicate today.  I'm still in my PJ's and its dull and wet outside so I may just spend the day watching DVD's and chilling out at home.

Thursday:
All about the stripes! And the fact the temperature is rising so I get to wear all my other jackets stashed away in my wardrobe. I really do love this jacket and its nice and warm too!

Cardigan, Top, Skirt, Tights - H&M, Jacket, Scarf, Socks - Primark, Necklace - Aldo, Boots - Office

Friday:
I adore these tights, the pattern is fab and the quality is great - I've had them for ages without any ladders!  However I found them quite hard to photograph so apologies for the pics but I wanted to show you the design, they remind me of Gameboys and Tetris

Cardigan, Socks - Primark, Dress Topshop, Tights - H&M, Necklace - Vintage, Boots - Office

Let me know what you lovelies think and what you got up to on Friday.

Pink Leopards In London...

...don't be silly! It's just me sporting this rather fetching cardigan.  I've had it for ages but unfortunately rarely where it - you see I have so many colourful patterned things in my wardrobe it gets hard to match them up.  That's when I remembered I had the delightful denim number in my wardrobe also!

Cardigan & Tights - H&M, Dress - BikBok, Necklace - Vintage, Boots - Office

It's all very well buying things you love, but it's quite another when matching them to the rest of your wardrobe.  It's something I really must start doing - I continually buy so many individual items of clothes/accessories and never think about the final outfit - that just happens when I wake up in the morning and rummage through my clothes.  This is turn leaves me with so many beautiful items that are just sitting there crying out to be worn, and me wearing the same items daily - so my next test is to only buy things that will go with other items already in my wardrobe!

What about you guys? What's your shopping habits?

Twisted Tales....

Why hello there....

I've just got back from a lovely trip to the theatre where Abi and myself watched the wonderful Roald Dahl's Twisted Tales.  It's was playing at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith - I've never been before but it was very cute and cosy.  The play itself was great, eerie, funny, fab cast - I do recommend you go see it before it closes on the 26th February.

To be honest the reason for really wanting to go and see this was because of my current blog obsession Louder than Silence, a blog owned by the most cool and effortlessly stylish couple Sally and Ross, who always seem to have the perfect balance of work and play - follow them through there fascinating and usually yummy adventures and check out there's cute and quirky style - I am currently in LOVE with this blog and they have really inspired me to see more of London (even though I was born and raised here).  They always find something or somewhere new... the next stop for me is the Museum of Everything again a la the adventures of Sally and Ross - BIG THANK-YOU for all the inspiration you have given me!

My outfit today is all cosy and warm...the weather is yet to pick up - but I'm not complaining I love any excuse to wear my chunky knits and leg warmers:

Cardigan - Nicole Farhi/Vintage, Floral Top - Topshop, Vest Top, Shorts, Leg Warmers, Necklace - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - Office

Let me know who you guys are following at the moment? Any recommendations?

Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang

I've just finished painting my nails this evening and I just couldn't wait to share them with you.

As I've mentioned before I've been so busy recently that I haven't really had the chance to do my nails in a while, but hey, here they are now:

It's this gorgeous Blueberry colour from my favourite Barry M, it's just such a bright and vibrant colour that it puts me in a good mood just looking at my newly painted nails that I just had to share them with you! :)

For my outfit today I kept it quite casual and comfy as I woke up in such a doze I didn't even have time to wash my hair so I used my new favourite head scarf...cunning hey?

Cardigan - Zara, Top, Vest Top, Jeggings, Leg Warmers - H&M, Necklace - Portobello, Boots - Zara

I have to say, I've had quite a good Monday as far as Monday's go - nowhere near as hectic as it has been which is a great change.  How was everyone else's Monday?

Stitch and bitch...

So I popped around my lovely friend Abi's house today to do a bit of knitting, have a good ol' chin wag and enjoy good food.  She made some yummy cupcakes wile I made 7 layer dip.

Unfortunately we ate all the dip before I had time to photograph it but here's a posh pic of how it can look :)

For my recipe which I stole from my American friend its basically a layer of refried beans, a layer of salsa (not fresh - Dorito's or Old El Paso is the best) sour cream, spring onions, black olives and cheese.  You then bung it in the oven until hot throughout and the cheese is all melty and either leave it to cool and serve at room temperature, or as we did eat it piping hot....yummmmmmm

My friends cup cakes were so cute baked in little cases picked up in Ikea:

Again uber yummy!

As for the knitting, I'm in the middle of knitting a hat which I have been doing for a while and about 1/2 way through at the moment, here's how it looks so far:
Pants huh? ha ha, but imagine it finished, a lovely cosy hat with a little bobble on the top. Can you picture it? Because I can.

Abi on the other hand is much more adventerous and she's made lots of cute crocheted monsters with her own patterns which hopefully she's going to sell to the world one day!  Today she started to crochet this bad boy:
Which I've now stolen the pattern for, and this is going to be my next project as by the time I finish my hat I think it will be Summer!

For today's outfit I decided to wear something comfy to lounge around the house with:
Cardigan - Primark, Top, Vest Top, Jeggings, Necklace - H&M, Boots - Zara

Let me know what you've been up to this weekend, I love random chill out weekends.

Birds of A Feather....

...Flock together.  That's what they say anyway!

After looking at my pictures today, I realised that all my outfits had a running theme - birds!  From designs on my clothes to accessories... ingenious huh? ha ha

Monday..

I haven't worn this dress in yonks, and I saw it in the wardrobe and remembered quite how much I do like the dress, the cute bird pattern, the detailed ruffle around the neck - the only slightly annoying thing about it is when you're walking it gets stuck to your tights and rises up - not the most practical or sightly thing! Hence the reason this dress is never really at the top of my list of things to wear...

Cardigan - H&M, Dress - New Look, Tights & Socks - Primark, Boots - Peacocks

Tuesday...

I purchased this top a while ago from Primark and filed it into my wardrobe and completely forgot about it! doh!  but anyway all is now good because I found it on Tuesday - I bought it because its just so cute and pretty and has a fabulous lace back (which in my rush I forgot to photograph - double doh!):

Cardigan & Owl Ring - H&M, T-shirt, Tights & socks - Primark, Boots - Peacocks

Wednesday...

I'm afraid I don't have much to say for Wednesday only that I can remember thinking is it really only half way through the week and hurry up Friday!
Cardigan - H&M, Dress - Boutique in Hammersmith, Tights and Necklace - Primark, Boots - Office

Thursday...

Remember one of my very early posts when I bought all those tops from New Look? Well this is one of the purchases from way back then and I've finally got around to wearing it! whoop!  I teamed it with one of my chunky knit cardigans as the weather has started to turn a lil' bit chillier in the last couple of days...

Cardigan - Ebay, Bird Top - New Look, Vest Top, Jeggings, Socks - H&M, Boots, Necklace - Primark

Friday...

It's the end of another very long week! woohooo, and I was in a REALLY good mood, playing all sorts of music in the office - Hanson, Ace of Base, Mumford and Sons etc etc.

Cardigan - Ebay, T-shirt, Vest Top, Skirt - H&M, Tights & Ring - Primark, Skull Necklace - Brick Lane Markets, Boots - Zara

And my purchase of the week...

This fabulous claw ring I spied in So High Soho - this fabulous little shop around the corner from where I work where the sell everything from fancy dress costumes to silver jewellery - and it's pretty damn cheap - I picked this beauty up for a mere £15!  Bargain huh?
