It's a Royal Celebration...

Check out my Tumblr for more pics!

Wasn't the wedding awesome? Kate's...sorry Katherine's dress was beautiful - she looked gorgeous today.

Sadly I was at work - but managed to watch most of the big day thanks to BBC live streaming! woohoo.  Though I was mega busy, work was so much fun today - the floors we decked with colourful bunting and Kate and William flags and they laid out cucumber sandwiches, strawberries and cream and Pimms!

I also managed to pop down to Trafalgar Square at lunch and caught some of the street party there - it was packed and I saw a wee glimpse of Boris Johnson.

I love this dress, it's both dressy and casual and I adore how colourful it is.  As today was the Royal Wedding I thought I'd run with the theme - slightly more dressed up than usual, with a hint of 'Britishness' with my shoes.

Cardigan, Tights & Necklace - Primark, Dress & Vest Top - H&M, Shoes - New Look

These shoes I bought the other day in New Look - they're so cute and fell in love with them as soon as I saw them.  They felt comfy when I tried them on - and I wore them for the first time today and boy did they hurt :( HOPEFULLY this was the breaking in stage and they'll be fine next time :) (PS if you don't know what I'm talking about - I have a terrible time finding comfy pumps - see my previous post for more)

Another reason it was a great day is because I recently won a blog give away on this lovely lady's blog! Its my first thing I've won in MANY years and I get $40 to spend in THIS awesome Etsy shop owned by this lovely lady.  I'm just so excited and like a kid in a sweet shop with so many things to choose from I don't know where to start!  THANKS LADIES!

What did everyone else do to celebrate the Royal Wedding?

What a difference a day makes...

My oh my, how quickly the weather changes here in London always baffles me.  One minute it's gloriously sunny, then yesterday grey and overcast and rather chilly, and again today sunny!  It's just so hard to decide what to wear - I mean is it grey outside in the morning and it will turn into a bright sunny day?  Who knows!  So I decided to go for a mix yesterday  to cover all possibilities- jeggings, a light vest top and a long cardigan and pumps - it didn't quite work as the wind kept blowing up my top!

These pumps I purchased about 2 years ago, I love them with their beautiful patent gold toes which are so shiney and reflective contrasted to the black rim and heel, and the cute buckles around the ankles and sweet shape.

The only very sad thing is they HURT - I can only really where them for about 1/2 comfortably, then the pinch and rub in all the wrong places.  As per my Ouchy! post up until recently I have found it really difficult to find comfy pumps, I have so many pretty pairs under my bed - but I think around 50% hurt/start to hurt, which is very sad :( but never the less I decided to give these a whirl just because they are quite so beautiful.

Anyway enough of my rambles, here are some photo's of the rest of yesterday's outfit, I do adore the colours and aztec design on the vest top, I think it's quite fun.

Cardigan & Necklace - Primark, Vest Top & Jeggings - H&M, Ring - Rokit, Pumps - Shelly's

I also feel the need to share last nights dinner with you because it was quite so scrumptious - and homemade!  Prawn noodle soup with lots of fat prawns and fish cakes and fishballs! yuuuuuumy!

It's so super simple to make and perfect for Spring - boil up some fishstock, soy sauce and oyster sauce to taste, add your chosen seafood, boil until cooked and in the last minute add your fresh vermicelli noodles (if not fresh add them about 3mins before serving) and voila! scummy noodle soup.

How does everyone else cope with indecisive weather?  And has anyone else got some recipes to share?

Monday Monday....

What a great Easter weekend, even though I actually only got yesterday off work and I'm currently sat at work right now, it was a glorious day in the sunshine with the family.  It was so chilled out and relaxed - just what I need for my one day off this week.

Although I spent the majority of the day in the sunshine I don't think I have managed to tan at all! Booo  But all is not lost as I have finally booked my Cambodia and Vietnam tour for June with Gap Adventures which I am SOOOOO excited about - though I was told it's their rainy season :S fingers crossed for then sunshine!  I would have liked to travel Cambodia, Vietnam and Loas, but it was impossible trying to find a friend to take a month off work, so I took the next best option which was tour (though it didn't include Loas).

It's this first time I've done such a big trip since my year travelling around Australia and I cannot wait.  If I had the choice I think I would spend my days travelling - bouncing from country to country.  I have so many places I want to go - I think my next big trip is either South America or China.

As you can see I have my two must haves of the moment - the headscarf and maxi skirt.  I also have another pair of Primark glasses I spoke about in my last post, I love the shape of these - slightly feline, and the colour is so pretty - and matches my top perfectly!

All I can say is apologies for the millions of photo's the sunshine was just too much and I couldn't help but take advantage!

In the evening after all the relaxing the family and I settled down to a rather delicious home cooked meal...

The dessert is courtesy of my 18 yr old bro who is a bit of a genius in the kitchen - not good for my waistline. I then spent the rest of the evening listening to music and painting my nails this rather gorgeous coral color

I hope everyone else has had a super Easter, has anyone else got any big trip they want to do?

Happy Easter

I hope everyone is having a great Easter, and what a perfect day - I love lazy Sunday's when it's warm outside - chilling on a picnic blanket letting the sun soak into your skin listening to a bit of Bob Marley - what more could you want on an Easter Sunday? Perfect.

I've been making good use of the 5 - yes 5 - pairs of sunglasses I picked up in Primark, they've got such a good collection this year and for £1-£3 you can't really go wrong - especially if your like me and have a terrible habit of breaking or loosing your sunnies.

 Sunnies & Cardigan - Primark, Vest Top & Shorts - H&M, Sandals - Office

My outfit is rather casual but I love this little cardigan with it's beautiful pattern and the way it hangs, teamed with this simple flowly top - casual and super comfy.  I also love how versitle shorts are, you can wear them throughout the year, just pull on a pair of leggings, you can wear them casual (as above) or really dress them up with a pair of heels and a blazer - definitely a wardrobe must have.

What is everyone up to on the rather gorgeous Sunday afternoon?  And did anyone in London witness the thunder storm yesterday afternoon?  It was pretty awesome - though slightly sucky if you were caught in the rain - like I was with sandals! Boo

Working 9 to 5

Let me start of by thanking everyone for their lovely comments and following me, it brings a smile to my face and I'm overwhelmed and overjoyed by the support - so thank you everyone!!!!

Unfortunately though it's a bank holiday over here and the weather is glorious, I'm currently stuck at work.  I'm also working tomorrow and all over the Royal Wedding bank holiday and weekend.  It's massively sucky, but the show I'm working on is coming to an end and we are having a massive push to get shots out.

Fun Fact about me: I haven't let you guys know yet but I work in the VFX industry working on feature films - I can't tell you what I'm working on at the moment, but one day soon I shall reveal all :)

Though I'm stuck in an office it hasn't detered me from being super Summery and dressing for the beautiful sunshine outside.  I've also kept my jewellery very Summery too, with this massive triple floral ring from Primark - I just love the colours, and this cute necklace with such a beautiful design, as you can see it was all about the florals on Wednesday.

Cardigan, Necklace, Ring & Belt - Primark, Dress - H&M, Sandals - Office

For yesterday's outfit, I had all sorts of comments at work - I look like a Pirate, I look like a Milk Maid etc.  I found it all quite funny and strangely complementary as at least the noticed my outfit - and not in a horrid way! YAY  I really like this shirt and the tie detail on the neck, it's also perfect for the warm weather as it's so light.

Can you tell I have about a billion of the same sandals?  There is a logical reason for this I swear - there was a pop up Office Sale Shop around the corner from where I work and they were only £5 each AND they are super comfy!  How could anyone resist?

Shirt - Primark, Dress - Zara, Sandals - Office, Headscarf - Brick Lane Markets

This dress always takes me back to my childhood - I think it's because I had an obsession with dungarees.  But I love the way it scoops around my waits and the cute button detail on the straps as super cute.  Is there any items that you own that bring back memories of childhood?

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

It's Still Rock and Roll

Cardigan & Leggings - H&M, Top - All Saints, Boots - New Look

The last two day I've seemed to have adopted some kind of rock chick vibe in terms of some of the bits and bobs I've been wearing.  None of it is planned mind you, just the way the cookie crumbled.  After Sunday's wardrobe clear out, I found a few jems lost in the depths of my drawers (though I maybe should have chucked them).  One of which was this rather unique top from All Saints with such a awesome design and detail on the back I just had to hold on to this one.  This matched with my buckle boots and zip leggings it was very biker/rock chick-esque.

Dress - Supre, Necklace - Primark, Sandals - Office

Yesterdays look was much more feminine and summery - due to drastic weather changes in London - I also managed to find this little beaut on a lonely rail.  I bought the dress some years ago when I was travelling around Australia, in a shop called Supre (is that still around in Oz?).

The only reason I don't wear this as often as I should is because it's strapless (why I bought strapless dress when I can't wear them I don't know) - you see I have a rather large bust and I'm yet to find a strapless bra that does the job quite frankly.  Though thanks to the high street finally realising there are girls with bigger busts that don't want to spend a fortune or wear bras made for their grandma's I found quite a great selection in Debenhams, one of which matches perfectly with the dress - could you tell it was a strapless dress if I didn't tell you?

Anyway back to my original point, I teamed this rather summery outfits with one of my favourite Summer jacket - this studded beauty from Primark, bringing us back to the rock chick vibe.

Jacket - Primark

I just adore this jacket and I'll tell you exactly why it's my favourite Summer jacket - it's light, it's versatile (it goes with dresses, maxi's, leggings etc), it's a great fit both feminine and edgy with the stud detail - what more could you want in your jacket?

What's your go to jacket for the warmer weather?

And now in other news - here is what I managed to clear out of my wardrobe on Sunday...

It's not as much as I hoped, but it's better than nothing, I just can't let go of my clothes! I'm donating the bag on the left to charity, and if I ever get around to it, I'll be putting the items on the right on Ebay.

Anyone else a bit of a hoarder of clothes like me?

Taking it to the Maxi-mum...

So my next must have for Spring/Summer apart from the headscarf is the Maxi Skirt. There are so many good selections on the high-street with hundreds of styles, patterns and colours, there's one out there to suit everyone.  Here is just a few I have my eye on already :)

I'm quite short at 5'3'' so I do struggle to find ones to fit, but I make do by either rolling them up, wearing them high waist or with heels.

I have rolled this one at the waist so it doesn't drag on the floor - I find maxi skirts so versatile, they also make me feel really feminine and elegant.

Top - H&M, Skirt - Dorothy Perkins, Sandals - Office, Ring - Rokit, Necklace - Brick Lane

Though I also have a soft spot for Maxi Dress, and have no doubt they'll be a big part of my Spring/Summer wardrobe I haven't yet seen any that tickle my fancy on the high street.  I've been finding loads of gorgeous dresses on Etsy, Ebay and Portobello market though, which is a major thumbs up!

What are your thoughts on Maxi's for this Spring/Summer?

Much to Do about Nothing...

So here it is, my new do....

I love my new barnet even more now that I've had the chance to style it myself. I love the colour - the contrast between the light and the dark, and love how it blends so well.  I love the feeling of a new hair style, for me I just find it so reviving and it makes me feel like a whole new person.

The weather is also starting to pick up a little too, which always brightens my spirit.  Yesterday I spent the rather pleasant evening down the local with a few work friends, it was so nice to stand outside in the warmish evening sipping my Rose with good conversation flowing.

Cardigan - Zara, Top & Skirt - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - Office, Necklace - Portobello Market

This ring was another bargain find at Primark for a pack of three - a bow, a heart and a flower, unfortunately clumsy me managed to break it and lose it on my way home - sad times, because I adore this ring and it's the reason I bought the pack in the first place.

Ring - Primark

The weekend hasn't been filled with much excitement unfortunately, I was working today which was massive sucky bums and I'm spending my Sunday having a massive clear out.  My wardrobe is far to packed and I haven't worn a lot of this stuff for ages - so I'm thinking Ebay or Charity shop depending on what it is.

Anyone else having a clear out? What are you doing with your old things?  Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
