It's all Change

Aran Cardigan & Headscarf - Vintage |  Top & Skirt - H&M | Tights & Necklace - Primark | Boots - Zara

So I've finally jumped on the Photoshop bandwagon, there where just too many beautiful blogs and photo's edited with Photoshop that I couldn't help myself - so I've saved up and a couple of months later here I am trying to teach myself the basics.  I was using Gimp before which I do still love, but just thought I would go the whole hog and treat myself.

These are my first batch of shots I have attempted editing with a lot of help from youtube, I'm reasonably pleased, though I think the tone is slightly wishy washy and the rounded edges aren't that smooth - what do you guys think?

Has anyone else got some neat Photoshop tricks they would like to share?

What a glorious weekend it has been in London, here is a wee snapshot of what I have been up to...

Kiddies parties, a new ring and nail polish, Sunday Roast followed by a homemade chocolate cake - YUM.  What has everyone else been up to?

A vintage weekend

This weekend was spent at two lovely vintage fairs with my Ma.  It was such a relaxing weekend browsing through stalls, sipping tea and most of all hanging out with my mum.

The first stop on our adventures was The Vintage Fair on Saturday at Shoreditch town hall.   It was packed with stalls of clothes, jewellery and accessories,  there was even a cute little tearoom called Teaspoons.  They served tea in Vintage China, as well as some pretty and scrummy cupcakes, we decided on tea for two and a slice of Victoria Sponge to share.

Teaspoons also do events so if your looking for a quintessentially English tea party check out  Teaspoons.

I have to say I do like a good ol' vintage fair, I usually just go to browse as prices are usually hiked up and they can become a very expensive outing. Though I have to say this fair was very reasonably priced and the perfect place to find a bargain or two.  Needless to say I ended up picking up quite a few items.

A perfect peach sheer midi skirt for £10 (I'm thinking warm summer days)

Simple but quirky midi skirt for £12

Can you tell I have something for midi skirts at the moment?  I also picked up two beautiful scarfs that I will show you in a future post when I where them, they were 2 for £5 - bargain!

This was my last purchase of the day ... you guessed it, another midi skirt, for a whopping £3 - how could I turn that down?

Top - H&M | Necklace, Heart Ring & Tights - Primark | Boots - Schuh

I also wore this for our Sunday outing to The London Vintage Fashion, Textiles & Accessories Fair in Hammersmith town hall.

This vintage fair is what I call 'high end', it had so many beautiful designer pieces from 20's hand embroidered flapper dresses, 70's Ossie Clark gowns to Victorian nightdresses - all of which were magnificent and one off and so much fun to browse and admire (sorry I was too busy looking so didn't take any photos of the great pieces).  The only problem is everything was SO expensive, and rightly so, it just meant we could only afford a cup of tea and a slice of fruits of the forest cake - which was yummy.

.. and that was our weekend - what did everyone else get up to?  Do you have a good vintage fair/shop to suggest for bargain pieces?

Handbags and Glad-rags

Top & Tights - H&M | Skirt, Socks & Black Ring - Primark | Necklace - Vintage Festival | Boots - Red or Dead

If anyone has visited Kuala Lumper before you would know it's a shoppers paradise, especially designer brands.  Sadly I don't have the dosh to spend on anything too lavish, but with so many shops and malls it did mean I discovered some local brands.

One such brand is Charles and Keith (from Singapore), they do both handbags and shoes at bargain prices!  I picked up this lovely faux Ostrich bag for the bargain price of £35.  Not only was it an amazing price, but the quality is top notch, much better that any bag for that price I've seen over here.

Oh, and these are yet another new pair of ankle boots - yes yes, I'm obsessed!  But these Red or Dead boots were just too perfect to pass up.

What do you guys think?  Have you discovered any amazing local brands in other countries?

Kuala Lumper in Photos

Sorry for not updating in so long; life got in the way, though I am really going to make a conscience effort to blog more.

Highlights from the trip included:  catching up with family I haven't seen in year, food food and more food, the sunshine, exploring KL as a tourist rather than being driven around by my Aunties.

My cousins plan to come visit later in the year, so there will be another mini reunion and I'm already excited!

For more photos check out my Flickr account.
