★ Intergalactic ★

I used this tutorial here to get this look

I've been seeing 'Galaxy Nails' on every blog and youtube channel recently, it looked so simple to do that I decided to give it a whirl.   As you can see I used quite a few colours with black as my base.  The pictures don't really show how glittery and sparkly my nails are, which brings me to my DIY glittery nail polish.  It's simply clear nail polish with glitter I had lying around poured into it, it works really well.

What do you guys think?

Again it's been a busy week, I've been working my butt off, but also playing hard too.  Celebrating birthdays, boogying to Aretha Franklin in Spanish bars, making bags and attending leaving parties.

Today I went with my ma and bro into central for lunch and a browse around the National Portrait Gallery, and to make the most of the warm day I decided to wear one of my summer dresses.

Sadly though the weatherman is saying tomorrow is going to be rainy - boo!  What has everyone else been up to in the last week?

Frills

Hello guys and gals, sorry for the lack of blogging this week, I've been super busy at work and it doesn't seem to be slowing down - eeek!

Cardigan & Skirt - Primark | Vest Top & Tights - H&M | Ring - Rokit | Boots - Office

I bought this skirt the other day and wore it yesterday, I love the colour and the ruched detail at the bottom. it's so pretty and girly and reminds me of a crinoline skirt.  They also have it in a lovely plum colour which I may have to purchase too - I have a terrible habit of finding an item I like and buying it in every colour.  Does anyone else do that?

Nailvarnish - Barry M Dusky Mauve

Tonight I'm off to my best bud Jackie's engagement party and I just can't wait, I'm so happy for them both, you can read how she was proposed to right here.  For the time being I'm surfing the web and listening to Jonny Cash - what a great weekend so far.  What is everyone else up to?

Flying High

I experimented with a new hairstyle the other day after seeing the super easy and very stylish tutorial over on the girl never gets older blog.  As I mentioned it's super easy to do and looks pretty damned good no?  It adds a very vintage and stylish twist to any outfit.  I also decided to use the headband I got for my birthday to add a little something extra to the style.  What do you guys think?

Cardigan - H&M | Dress & Ring - Primark | Necklace - Accessorize | Headband & Sandals - Topshop

Today I'm off to two birthday parties, but luckily their pretty close to each other so I shouldn't be to hard to get between both.  Has anyone else got plans for today?

This is what your hair has been looking for...

This isn't one of my usual posts, but you know how I was waffling on in one of of my posts about getting the salon finish look?  Well I found the baby that has saved my life, so I just thought I would share it with you lovely peeps

It is the best hair product I've invested in - £19 to be precise, but boy is it worth it.  My hair has never been so smooth and healthy (all that dye and heat just wasn't good).  It's not one of these products that makes hair 'look' and 'feel' healthy, it actually repairs your hair with its protein enriched formula that is heat activated!

I only wash my hair twice a week, but I blow-dry my hair each time and use a curling iron pretty much daily - these Mark Hill ones to be exact:

Though the design is not my cup of tea, they were recommended to me, and the definitely get my seal of approval, you can see their works of magic on my hair in pretty much all my recent posts.

I use Aussie heat protecting spray religiously and swear by Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner, but they just couldn't keep up with my constant curling iron use and my hair had become rather dry and crispy at the ends - gross.  Kérastase, Ciment Thermique however is activated by heat so actually treats and reconstructs your hair while using your blow-dryers or any other heated appliances!  Massive bonus I say!

So enough with wasting your dosh testing out drug-store products, why not invest in something that actually works?  I've never had so many comments about how good my hair looks.

Are there any products you swear by?  Let me know if you like my reviews and I can start incorporating more into my blog.

Punting in the Rain

Here are some pictures from Abi, Jackie and my trip to Cambridge last Friday.  It wasn't the best day to go as the weather was gloomy and rainy, but we had it planned for a while so decided to go anyway.

We had so much fun - scoffing scones at Auntie's, sipping giant hot chocolates, guzzling fruit cider, rummaging through the haberdashery section of John Lewis, not to mention taking in the glorious and historic sights of Cambridge and it's Colleges.  We also decided to partake in one of Cambridge's traditions - punting down the river, turns out the sellers do not like you asking around for better deals - we almost got caught up in an argy bargy!

Typically when the time came to go punting the heavens had opened and it was raining, we decided to push on and go punting anyway.  Our poor guide was drenched through and through, our seats were soggy which meant soggy bums, and not many photo's were taken due to the rain.  It was still so much fun and by the end of the tour the sun came out to play and it was really warm, though we all had wet patch bums for the remainder of the day.

Before we went home we stopped off in Bill's the most colourful and cosy cafe/store I've been to.  The main menu was desserts only, though they have boards up with a small selection lunch and dinner courses, the walls were stuffed full pretty looking jams, colourful and cute packaged juices and many more beautiful looking condiments - I highly recommend you take a visit if there is a Bill's near you.

I definitely went dressed for the weather:

Cardigan - Vintage/Ebay | Top - H&M | Skirt - Joy | Necklace - Accessorize | Tights, Ring & Boots - Primark

My chunky knit cardigan kept me nice and warm - I'm kinda glad I can start wearing them again, though very sad the Summer seems to have come and gone in a blink of an eye.  In my bag I also had a rain mac and umbrella so stayed reasonably dry for the day except for my toes and butt!

Has anyone else been on any recent adventures?
