I hope everyone had a jolly, merry Christmas and they got to spend it with their loved ones.  I had a really fun day with some of our family over and singing karaoke until the early hours. 

I'm sorry for not posting sooner, I thought with my time off I'd be able to show a little love to my blog, but it turns out, I just got caught up in Christmas.  Before the big day, my lovely Hungarian friend decided to put on a little Hungarian Christmas Dinner and oh my gosh it was delicious!  Here's the menu:

Starter:
Hungarian meaty pancakes - Hortobagyi husos palacsinta :)

Main:
Slow cooked marinated pork belly served with apple sauce

Sides:
Pickled red cabbage with apple
Roasted Apache potatoes
Orange glazed carrots
Roasted parsnips
Warm garden pea and green bean salad with sesame seeds

Pudding:
Orange and walnut parfait served with orange and vodka jelly

Believe me, it tasted as good as it sounds!  What have you guys been up to during this Christmas period?

This is another item I haven't worn in years - this skirt I purchased from Topshop about 5 years ago and it keeps escaping the clear out as I love the colours and the the silky material, and as it turns out it goes pretty well with baggy jumpers.  I'm glad I didn't ship it off to the charity shop.

 What's everyone's plans for the NY?  I've got 2 house parties to attend, but I may just stick to one as getting from one place to another before midnight generally means I end up celebrating on the tube or a bus.

A slightly different outfit post today, more or an outerwear post.  I don't think I'll be doing too many of these, but I love coats and jackets and have quite a few in my collection and always find myself eying everyone's coats on my way to work in the morning.  Anyone else do that?

I loved last weeks weather here in London, it was soooo cold with thick frost on the cars in the morning but blistering sunshine throughout the day - perfect weather for warm mulled cider.  I can't believe it's less than a week until Christmas - I have sooooooooo much to do, it's quite scary!  What about you guys - have you got everything done?

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

It's that time of year that the Aran Cardigans come out of the wardrobe, they're just so snug and warm and darned practical I can't help but team them up with everything.  For any long term followers of my blog, you'll know I couldn't get enough of these last year, what can I say? I love a chunky knit!

Yesterday my Ma and me decided to have a wander around the South Bank Christmas Market, it has got me even festive with the smell of mulled wine wafting through the air, and crowds singing along to the Christmas tunes playing through the loudspeakers, it was such a nice atmosphere and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  What's making you guys feel festive?

Another hair tutorial I found on YouTube, once you get the hang of a basic french braid it's pretty easy to create various styles, I love this one in particular because it's so pretty and girly - and most importantly easy to create!  What do you think of this hairstyle?  Have you got any easy hairstyles you want to share?

The beginning of December has finally arrived and the frost has hit the ground.  I really do hope that it snows this year, it makes me feel like a big kid.  How about you guys - do you like the snow?

The other thing I love is layers - lots and lots of layers, this is why this is my favourite time of year, getting wrapped up in vest tops, jumpers, knits and cosy coats - perfect for keeping snug.  This jumper really made the rounds last year on blogsphere, but I'm dusting it off again this year and still adoring the patches.

I haven't started Christmas shopping yet, but I've started making lists - has anyone else started shopping yet?

As you can probably tell, I'm still digging the vintage hair styles, and thanks to this lovely lady Natalie on youtube, I've found some super simple styles, such as the one above, I can do in about 10mins in the morning - perfect!  What do you guys think? 

I'm currently battling my way through a cold at the moment, I lost my voice and sound quite husky at the moment - not sexy husky, more like manly husky! Not good.  It also meant I missed the Motel Rocks Christmas Party on Monday - did anyone go?  How was it?  I bet it was AMAZING, damn you illness!!!!!!!

 
I can't believe Christmas is almost upon us, I'm getting super excited especially now Christmas markets are starting pop up all around London, all we need now is the snow!  What are you guys getting excited about?

changing of mind

I loved this skirt when I first bought it with a cute ruffle waist, pockets and belt hoops, but now I look at it and think it's quite frumpy and long.  

I don't want to discard it as a black skirt will always come in handy, but I feel I need to do something to it, maybe to shorten it - I'm just not sure what it needs, what do you guys think?

I do however love my shiny shoes!

A little while ago there was an awesome promotion on VoucherCodes which gave you 25% off any purchase at Clarks, so I took full advantage and bought me these beauties, and the most comfortable ankle boots ever which I'll have to show you soon.  I've seen these brogues in a dark maroon colour too which are also gorgeous, I've been tempted to add them to my purchase list, but don't know if that's just too many shiny brogues for one girl?

I've woken up with a cold this morning, so feeling rather sorry for myself and drinking lots of soup - how's everyone elses weekend going?

✩ MINI HAUL ✩

As promised, here is a little my little haul from Primark the other week.  Nothing too exciting but a few nice finds.

Picked this basic top up for £4, it's perfect layer for the cold, thinking I can wear this with pretty much anything such as my high-waisted shorts to my woolen skirt.

Another basic layer for £2.50, nothing special, but very handy.

Some cosy leg wear for the Winter months.  I just can't get enough of long socks, I have a whole drawer full of long socks and leg warmers, they're so comfy and look super cute with boots.  Anyone else have an unhealthily large collection of long socks or is that just me?

And now for the star find of my shopping trip ...

This super sweet shirt with the prettiest collar for the bargain price of £10.

I am totally obsessed with collars at the moment, if it's got a collar, I'm hooked, especially if it's as pretty as this one.

Considering it's getting colder, I'm actually surprised there are quite so many sleeveless shirts in the shops, but hey I'm not complaining, as this would look great under a chunky knit jumper with the pretty collar poking out during the cold months, and perfect with a pair of shorts when it starts to get warmer.

This dress is years and years old, but I always find myself coming back around to it, it's just really fun and looks like lots of tiny eyes peeking out from the dark.

I've downloaded a budget app the other week because I seem to be spending money like water and it just has to stop!  All was going well until .... I walked past Primark.  Now although I seem to have quite a few bits from Primark, I'm not actually the biggest fan, it's like a mass jumble sale, sizes are ALWAYS random, and most importantly, it's actually getting more pricey for what it is.  What do you guys think?  Do you want to see a little haul post up on the blog?

I'm also loving vintage/retro hair styles at the moment, and the hair bump (which is basically a clip with sponge attached) is the perfect tool to help add a little extra volume, and it's only £1 from Primark - bargain!  What do you guys think?
