A vintage weekend

This weekend was spent at two lovely vintage fairs with my Ma.  It was such a relaxing weekend browsing through stalls, sipping tea and most of all hanging out with my mum.

The first stop on our adventures was The Vintage Fair on Saturday at Shoreditch town hall.   It was packed with stalls of clothes, jewellery and accessories,  there was even a cute little tearoom called Teaspoons.  They served tea in Vintage China, as well as some pretty and scrummy cupcakes, we decided on tea for two and a slice of Victoria Sponge to share.

Teaspoons also do events so if your looking for a quintessentially English tea party check out  Teaspoons.

I have to say I do like a good ol' vintage fair, I usually just go to browse as prices are usually hiked up and they can become a very expensive outing. Though I have to say this fair was very reasonably priced and the perfect place to find a bargain or two.  Needless to say I ended up picking up quite a few items.

A perfect peach sheer midi skirt for £10 (I'm thinking warm summer days)

Simple but quirky midi skirt for £12

Can you tell I have something for midi skirts at the moment?  I also picked up two beautiful scarfs that I will show you in a future post when I where them, they were 2 for £5 - bargain!

This was my last purchase of the day ... you guessed it, another midi skirt, for a whopping £3 - how could I turn that down?

Top - H&M | Necklace, Heart Ring & Tights - Primark | Boots - Schuh

I also wore this for our Sunday outing to The London Vintage Fashion, Textiles & Accessories Fair in Hammersmith town hall.

This vintage fair is what I call 'high end', it had so many beautiful designer pieces from 20's hand embroidered flapper dresses, 70's Ossie Clark gowns to Victorian nightdresses - all of which were magnificent and one off and so much fun to browse and admire (sorry I was too busy looking so didn't take any photos of the great pieces).  The only problem is everything was SO expensive, and rightly so, it just meant we could only afford a cup of tea and a slice of fruits of the forest cake - which was yummy.

.. and that was our weekend - what did everyone else get up to?  Do you have a good vintage fair/shop to suggest for bargain pieces?

I need to find something like this near me! I came to your blog after seeing that you commented on effiesmakeupbox asking where her studded bag was from, just to let you know they're on ebay!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Celebrity-Stud-Studs-Studded-Bottom-Black-Duffel-Leather-Tote-Bag-Handbag-NEW-U2-/220912723999?pt=UK_Women_s_Handbags&var=&hash=item7915ec5475

Thats just one seller but if you type in 'studded bag' many will come up! :)

How charming! I love the skirt you're wearing, beautiful colour and what a bargain!

Sorry I didn't reply about putting the labels on my photos, my internet has been down since last weekend!
I got the templates for the labels on Pugly Pixel, you can download them here: http://www.puglypixel.com/2011/10/12/arrow-labels/.

I just paste them over the photo, change the colour and type over them. Hope that helps x
