Oxford Blues

Yesterday I went for an 'in between' outfit, by that I mean that though it was lovely and sunny and it was so hot in the house there was still a chill in the air:

Cardigan, Top, Vest Top & Shorts - H&M, Tights - H&M, Shoes - New Look

For Mothers Day the family and I went on a little road trip to Oxford where my sis went to uni and what a beautiful day it was so I thought I would share it with you guys...

I love Oxford, its such a picturesque little town with great architecture, and cute little shops and cafes, next time I visit when the weather is hotter I might try my hand at punting - that's where you navigate a little boats down the river with a rather large stick :)

As you can tell, we happened across a cute traditional sweet shop where they sold every kind of confectionery you can think of, we also turned up just in time for Oxford's chocolate festival and bagged ourselves a rather large slice of carrot cake mmmmm

We then ventured on to late lunch at Quod, it's a posh restaurant just on the highstreet where I treated myself to a very tasty Virgin Mary.

The food was OK, not the best I've had, and also we seemed to be terribly unlucky....I found a short and curly in my food, and I'd already eaten half EW!!!  Though they deducted my meal from the bill they 'accidentally' put 5 extra drinks on - so all in all not the greatest Mothers Day meal!

I also got an excuse to do some outdoor shoots today in the lovely streets of Oxford:

I have to admit, I felt a tiny bit like a plonker, it's something I'm not used to at all and I just felt people thought I loved myself....which I don't, but I do think surroundings add to an outfit post and I really like these shots, though I'm super wrapped up and you can't see much of my outfit.  So I think I am going to try and get some more 'on the street' snaps!

What did everyone else do for Mothers Day?  What do you think of my snaps?

i like your outfit and i think you'd look just as cute without the cool background.. although an interesting location is always fun :)

thanks for visiting my blog :) to answer your question.. i use photoshop to edit and sometimes picnik (www.picnik.com) it has a free version that's pretty great! i generally shoot with a canon rebel xti or a canon powershot d10 (i think it looks like a submarine haha)

taking outfit pics in the streets makes you feel so weird sometimes. anyway I think you get used to it. Your street shots look great. love the backgrounds. and shorts were meant to be worn with tights - I guess ^^

love, kimi

Oo I love your outfit. That scarf is amazing & so are those shoes! I'd love a pair of loafers like that. That is such a weird restaurant experience! That's so crazy that they tried to sneak in those drinks! Still, you were in Oxford, so I'm jealous. ^_^
