There's an Elephant in the Room...

What a busy weekend I've had, it was my little cousins Christening and we had some of my Irish family over from Ireland and London all gather together for good ol' knees up.  I love family get together's, everyone squished into somebody's house eating, laughing having good times.

Cardigan, Necklace - Vintage, Dress - boutique in Hammersmith, Tights - Primark, Boots - Office

On Sunday we still had loads of family still over and they popped around for dinner and a sing song, which was so much fun, and everything seems so much quieter now everyone has gone home.
Jacket - Primark, T-shirt, Vest Top, Jeggings - H&M, Boots - Office, Necklace - Xmas Present.

I love this Necklace, it's so unique, I haven't seen anyone else with it, and have no idea where it was bought.

What did you guys and dolls get up to at the weekend?

Baby it's cold outside.... ♥

So the temperatures are really starting to drop around London, I even spied a few flakes of snow today! yay! and with that in mind I have been making the most of the chunky knits and oversized cardigans.

Yesterdays outfit:

Jumper - Topshop, Black Top, Shorts - H&M, Tights, Socks - Primark, Boots - Office, Necklace - Portobello market

I just love this oversized jumper, it's so cosy and warm, and looks great with my ol' faithful pattern tights.

For today's look I went for one of my other many favourites, the Aran Cardigan.  Once again it's just so snug and warm and can be worn with pretty much anything.  I suggest buying one if don't already have one ladies (and gents)!

Headscarf - Beyond Retro, Cardigan - Ebay, Pattern Top - New Look, Vest Top, Jeggings, Leg Warmers - H&M, Boots - Office, Necklace - Primark.

I also decided to do a little something with my hair today, I was getting a little bored of 'buns' and I've seen quite a few people with headscarf's recently.  I have to say - I'm really liking the look, it's so easy to do and with a few hair clips stays in place all day.  What do you guys think?

New Week, New Purchase....

So I've been experimenting a little more with my poses and my locations so let me know what you think.

As promised here is just one of my purchases, this lovely little chiffon waterfall cardigan. I think its so fab (I bought another one in different colour) and it really adds to the outfit:

Cardigan - Primark, Top, Jeggings and Necklaces - H&M, Boots - Urban Outfitters

I don't know if any other London folk have noticed but it's started to get really chilly again outside.  I quite like the cold, that is as long as I am wrapped up nice and warm, and as you can see below I really do wrap up:

Scarf and double gloves - H&M, Duffle Coat and Bag - Topshop

Let me know what you guys think!

Grey Skies with a splash of colour

So it's still doom and gloom in terms of the weather here in London, the skies are grey and it just won't stop raining!  But you know me I love to brighten my day up with a splash of colour.

All you need is a piece of bright clothing or even an accessory to really make an outfit pop!  For the last couple of days I've been using some of my many cardigans to add a splash of colour to my outfits...

Clothing and Boots - H&M, Necklace - Primark

Cardigan and boots - H&M, Dress and Tights - H&M

Cardigan, Top, Necklaces - H&M, Skirt - Topshop, Tights - Primark, Boots - Office

In my last pic you can see I am trying out new locations around my house for my photo's, however as its so grey outside we have to use the flash and I've ended up looking rather blown out!  I also have someone who can't work their way around the camera very well taking the pics, AND I've also got to start working on my poses because as you can see they're all the same! ha ha  So in other words I'm going to start trying to experiment around a little more.

I also took a stroll past Primark on Oxford street and am really loving their window display at the moment, I just want everything!

It's all very neutral and very 50's at the moment, and also not my usual style or colours at all, I'm going to dip my toes into this sea of fashion and see what happens.  I also popped in and picked up a few bits so look out for them in my future posts.

A Pattern is starting to form...

As some may be able to tell already, I do love a pattern - pattern tights/tops/dresses - ANYTHING.  It doesn't even have to be a specific pattern either, I'm really not fussed, spots, stripes, floral - I am a true sucker for patterns as you can tell from my two outfits already this week:

Cardigan - Primark, Dress - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - Zara, Necklace - Primark

This green plaid dress is an oldly but it's just so cosy as it's kind of wooly, so it keeps me snug when the wind starts blowing.

I also just popped into Primakr on my way home from work and couldn't help picking up these uber cute tights - £3! Bargain I say!

Dress - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - Office, Necklace - Primark

Do let me know what you all think ♥

Flowers and Tea Parties..

Hello my lovelies,

So the weather seems to be on the up in terms of temperature that is, but the rain keeps on coming which isn't so good.  It does however mean I can start wearing some of my summer clothes again and team them with wooly tights of my faux sheep skin denim jacket just to keep me toasty when the wind starts blowing.

There are also cute new jewellery ranges coming out in all the high street stores which very much play on the theme of 'mad hatters tea party'.  This is just one gorgeous necklaces I've managed to pick up so far:

Necklace - Primark

I decided to team it with one of my favourite summer dresses, I just love this dress as it has this gorgeous floral print and a fabulous bow detail at the front, and it's just so damn comfy!
Cardigan - H&M, Dress - Primark, Tights - H&M, Boots - Office

I also could really be bothered to do much with my hair so I just put it up in the messy bun which is so quick and easy to do:

Pull your hair back like you're putting it into a pony tail and wrap you hair once with your hair-band, then take your hair and scrunch it into a pile and wrap the hair band around the scrunched hair until it holds your hair up.  Then you can either pull more strands of hair our or tuck as much in as you want, and this is the result:

Let me know what you all think.

The Last of the Sales...

So I'm quite late in hitting the sales this year, and as one expects there isn't really much left, but I did manage to grab a few bargains in Topshop....

Eyeshadow Palette (unsure of the name) (L) - was £12 now £3

Eyeshadow Duo Yellow/Pink - was £6 now £1

Eyeshadow Palette in Petrol (R) - was £12 now £3

That's a saving of £23!!! BARGAIN! I've also done some swatches so you can see what they look like:

OK, so my photographs aren't the best, but the colours are amazing, very pretty and cute.  When swatched the colours aren't quite as vibrant.  As you can see from the above photo's they are very subtle on skin, some barely visible, perfect for an everyday work look, a subtle hint of colour goes a long way.  Also if you're a fan of MAC paintpots, just apply something like Blackground on your lids first and they would make your eyes really pop for that night out.

Let me know what you guys think of Topshop make-up?

Rain Rain Go Away...

As I sit here writing this post, I have my feet up watching the TV chilling out at home.  It's been a very quiet day, sleeping in late, meeting an old friend and having a good ol' catch up and staying indoors - especially  when it's raining.  I have to say I really do detest the rain, well when I'm in London going to and from work trying to make my way through the obstacle course of umbrellas and puddles.  I do however enjoy watching the rain from my window, there's something quite relaxing about it.

Here's what I wore on Friday, a super bright and colourful dress to fight the rainy blues and a chunky knit cardy to keep me nice and warm.

Cardigan - Ebay, Dress - H&M, Vest Top - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - H&M, Necklace - Primark.

As for Saturday I decided to go for the comfy option that was just right for lazing around in, and a cute little fishtail plait to top it all off.

Jumper - H&M, Leggings - H&M, Boots - New Look, Necklace - Primark, Ring - Primark.

And to keep as snug as a bug, I did some digging in my wardrobe and found the coshty number

Coat - River Island, Hat - H&M, Scarf - Primark.

Let me know what you guys got up to this weekend be it relaxing or wild.

And Today is Wednesday

Wow, I can't believe it's Wednesday already, boy do I love these 4 day weeks.  It's also getting a little warmer  outside which is also a bonus!

So I've been trying to get the year off to a good start - going to bed earlier, getting into work earlier, eating healthier etc.... unfortunately I've failed miserably already - doh! and it's my bro's bday on Sunday and we're all going for a massive meal at TGI Friday, so I've decided to write this week off and put it down as experience and start again next week :)

Cardigan - H&M, Long Sleeve Stipey T - H&M, Skirt - H&M, Tights - Primark, Ankle Boots - New Look, Necklace - Miss Selfridge

Let me know how your day has been peeps.

Purple Rain

Today was the first day back after the holidays, which already feels so far away.  So to brighten the day up I decided to wear a casual but cute bright purple dress, unfortunately my camera does not like the colour purple but I can assure you it was bright and vibrant!

Cardigan - Primark, Vest Top - Primark, Dress - H&M, Tights - Primark, Boots - H&M, Necklace - Vintage

This is one of my favourite updos, so quick and simple - take an elasticated hair-band, put it over your hair (a bit like a visor, don't pull your hair through) and simply curl you hair around and over the back of the hair-band and tuck it in, and secure the hair-band with bobby pins and, tadaaaaaaaaaa! A cute yet sophisticated updo in seconds.

After a wee shopping trip after today, I have realised that clothes really affect my mood, they can either lift my spirits or drag me down.  Now I think I can dress for my size and know what styles suit my figure, but sometimes I just want to branch out, try something new.  However this can sometimes end in an unhappy face when it just doesn't suit me or makes me look frumpy and mis-shapened - I don't have a problem with my size at all, it's just I would like to suit all trends and all styles - call me greedy I guess :)  Needless to say I came back empty handed. Booo!

Please do let me know what you all think and how clothes affect your mood.

Yum Yum Yum...Food in my Tum

As promised, here are pics of my delicious meal!  It was so scrumptious, and my belly is about to pop!

We had lots of yummy delights - crispy chilli beef, aromatic duck and pancakes, char sui (bbq pork), siu youk (crispy belly pork), clay pot with aubergine and pork mice meat, Gold Mine Special King Prawns (king prawns with crispy egg)

But my favourite of them all has to be.... fresh steamed scallops with garlic and spring onion and soy sauce and chilli to drizzle over.... mmmmm

I had 4! I just couldn't resist, it was so good!

Let me know what your favourite delicious dish is when you dine out, and where to find it.

Hood Winked

So it's back to work tomorrow, and what can I say - I am not looking forward to it.  During the holidays I've enjoyed starting and updating my blog, shopping, chilling out and spending time with the boyfriend.  But hey! it was fun and now its back to the real world.

With the holidays at an end and the family back in town, we're going for a yummy family meal at one of my fav Chinese restaurants in Bayswater - Gold Mine. (I shall post pics of the yummy food next time).  I've decided to wear something comfy and stretchy today so I can stuff myself for one last time!

Jersey Cape - H&M, Baggy T - H&M, Skirt - H&M, Tights - H&M, Socks - Primark, Sued Boots - Primark, Gold Ring - Primark, Deer Skull Necklace - Brick Lane Market

As I mentioned before, I am back to work from tomorrow, so I may not be able to update my blog as much, but I shall keep you posted as much as I can.

Let me know if you guys have any fav restaurants that are a must in London?
